Chestnut Street Scarf
This is my very first posting to the Snapdragon Gallery! Please enjoy these notes and progress photos of my current knitting project. If you have any suggestions for this project or decide to try this project for yourself - shoot me a text!
Ribbing and 1/2 of the first main cable repeat.
This project is based on the Chestnut Street Scarf - a free pattern available from Lion’s Brand. Lion’s Brand has above average patterns and below average yarn. So, I’m knitting this up in Malabrigo’s Rios - a worsted weight 100% superwash merino wool in the colorway 705 Fog. There is no dye lot for this tag (Say a prayer for me that I have enough yarn!). I purchased this yarn in person at a small yarn shop near Albany, New York. This was one of the most masculine combinations available of both weight and color (without being too rough). Would recommend to a friend who is looking to knit up some masculine gifts!
I found this yarn a bit too heavy to knit with over the summer - duh. But it’s great to work with in the fall. Since it’s relatively heavy, metal needs have definitely been the right choice. I’m using a set of Chiagoo circular needles in a size 8 (5.0 mm).
